The rider of the French CIP Green Power team had been the victim of a very serious accident during the formation lap of the Moto3 race in Sepang just over two weeks ago.

Following the collision with fellow Spaniard Jose Antonio Rueda, who is being treated for fractures to his right hand and right shoulder blade in Seville, Dettwiler suffered very serious injuries. He was resuscitated three times, had his spleen removed and underwent surgery for an exposed fracture in his leg.

It took six days before the 20-year-old regained consciousness and came out of intensive care.

Now, fortunately, the worst is over and the boy can look forward to the future with optimism.
