Painless defeat for Simone Bolelli and Andrea Vavassori, who continue their splendid adventure at the Nitto ATP Finals in Turin: on Saturday they will become the first all-Italian pair to play a semifinal in the tournament’s history, on the indoor fast court of the Inalpi Arena.

In the last irrelevant match of the Peter Fleming Group round robin, the two Azzurri (No. 7 in the seeding) surrendered after nearly two hours of battle to Kevin Krawietz and Tim Puetz (No. 6), defending champions and the first Germans to have inscribed their name on the doubles roll of honor, with a final score of 7-6(5) 4-6 13-11.

In the past few days, Bolelli and Vavassori, who have won four titles in 2025 (Adelaide, Rotterdam, Hamburg and Washington) and reached the final at the Australian Open, had beaten Cash/Glasspool (No. 1) and Granolers/Zeballos (No. 3).
