Addition to the World Cup for Nigeria’s Ademola Lookman, a rather restless Atalanta player in recent months, Victor Osimhen, a Napoli scudetto now at Galatasaray, and Milan’s Samuel Chukwueze now on loan at Fulham. In Rabat, the Super Eagles lost on penalties to the Democratic Republic of Congo, which was certainly not favored and will return to the play-offs in March.

Even so, Nigeria…s Frank Onyeka unlocked the result as early as the 3rd minute, with his kicker served to perfection by Congolese Arthur Masuaku, the author of a clumsy sending-off. Meschack Elijah equalized in the 32nd minute, Victor Osimhen went out with injury at halftime, and Ademola and Chukwueze, disappointingly, were replaced on the stroke of the hour mark. No other goals came before the denouement on penalties.
