JT Thor explains his red and white choice

After treading the parquet floors of the NBA and G-League, JT Thor has decided to put himself on the line in Italy, in a club that will give him not a few responsibilities, Pallacanestro Reggiana: the white-and-red club presented the national player from South Sudan on Monday, on the eve of his departure for Zagreb, where Una Hotels will face Cibona in the Europe Cup (two-way ball on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m.).

“First impressions are very positive – said the 2002 class player, employable as a big wing or center -: environment, teammates and staff welcomed me very well. Coach Priftis immediately asked me for intensity and attention in learning his principles of the game. I am ready to go into battle with my new teammates to try to win”.

“I chose Europe and Italy because, talking with general manager Marco Sambugaro, I realized that the club’s ambitions coincided with mine – Thor added -. I was looking for a place that loved basketball as much as I do. I want to improve as a player and get important minutes: a return to the NBA is something I think about, but it is not an obsession”.

“I have already played in the FIBA area and I know the physical level and intensity required: here every possession counts more than in the NBA, where the pace is higher. The experience with the South Sudan national team was incredible: we qualified for the Olympics and the World Cup by surprising ourselves even before the rest of the world” concluded the new red and white basketball player.
