Tadej Pogacar, speaking to Marca microphones during the ‘MyWoosh’ virtual cycling World Championships, for which he is a testimonial, took stock of his season: “I would give it a 9, but there is always room for improvement in every aspect of your life. I think I can improve in some things, on and off the bike. You can always do better”.

“There have been so many beautiful moments – added the Slovenian outfielder.”

I have had many victories with different teammates, in different teams, with the national team, at the World or European Championships, at the Tour de France, in all the Monumental Classics I participated in. Each race has its own story and different emotions, so I cannot pick a favorite. I have too many wonderful memories”.

On next season’s calendar: “I like challenges and every year I try to change my schedule a little bit. But now I think I have become quite limited in what I can race. And every year there is the Tour de France, which is the big goal of both the team and me. But yes, I like to try new things, and in the next few years, I don’t want to end my career without trying everything else. I want to try many new things”.

On the rivalry with Jonas Vingegaard: “I always say that all cyclists, as in any other sport, want to face the best possible opponents. I want to see all rivals in their best form in the Tour de France or any other competition. If someone misses a race or has bad luck, the atmosphere changes and it is not the same. We also motivate each other every year. In the last four years, Jonas has pushed me to another level at the Tour. It is necessary to have him there every year”.

Closing on goals for 2026: “To win the Tour de France again. It is quite obvious: it is the biggest race of all. But I also want to express myself in the classics, show if I can improve in one-day races compared to this year or last year. San Remo and Roubaix are two races where I am very motivated to try again and fight for victory”.
