Imminent return to the field for Papu Gomez, who will finally make his debut this weekend with Andreoletti’s newly promoted Padova in the Serie B championship. The world champion striker, who has served his lengthy disqualification, had delayed his debut because of a muscle problem.

Saturday at 5:15 p.m. in the Veneto derby against Venezia, Gomez is expected to play a portion of the game: the Papu’s goal is to help the Biancoscudati in the race for the Serie B playoffs.

Gomez has been training with the group for several weeks now and is ready to take the field at the Euganeo. The player has signed a two-year contract with the ambitious Padova, which is also banking on him to return to Serie A. The former Argentine national, who missed all of last season due to disqualification, has worn the jerseys of San Lorenzo, Catania, Metalist, Atalanta, Sevilla, and Monza in his career before his landing in Padua.
