Alvaro Recoba tries again: adventure in Venezuela

Alvaro Recoba is retrying his adventure on the bench. The’former Inter Milan striker, who has been out of action for a year and a half after his farewell to Nacional Montevideo, has signed a contract with Deportivo Táchira, one of Venezuela&#8217s most emblazoned soccer clubs.

The Chino signed a contract until June 30, 2026 with the South American club, which welcomed him as follows:“A piece of Uruguay&#8217s history arrives at Venezuela&#8217s biggest club. Welcome, Prof. Recoba, we are sure you will write a glorious page in yellowonero following the historic legacy of Uruguayan founders, players and coaches who have exalted our club”.

Recoba played in Serie A at Inter, Venezia, and Torino, before moving to Panionios in Greece. In 2010, he returned to Uruguay, where he played for Danubio and then ended his career at Nacional Montevideo, the club that made his professional debut and later appointed him as coach.

Recoba has been a member of the Uruguayan football team for many years.

In Uruguay Recoba scored 11 goals in 69 games played with the Celeste.
