Lara Gut-Behrami falls in training: long stop feared

The 34-year-old skiing champion Lara Gut-Behrami was the victim, despite herself, of a bad fall while training on the slopes of Copper Mountain, in the United States.

According to reports from Blick, the Swiss skier reportedly suffered a torn ACL in her left knee with probable meniscus involvement as well. A probable concussion is also suspected. Instead, Swiss Ski merely reported that there&#8217s a suspected knee injury.

A decidedly ruinous fall that, if the diagnosis is confirmed (she will undergo all the appropriate investigations in Switzerland), will prevent Lara Gut-Behrami from taking part in the Milan Cortina Olympics scheduled for February, an appointment to which she cared so much.

It should be remembered that the Swiss champion had already made it known that this would be her last season as a professional. This stop could sanction, prematurely, the end of her career. Her rich palmares include many titles, including a gold medal (won in the Super-G in Beijing, in 2022) and two bronze medals at the Olympics, as well as two World Cups (2016 and 2024). Definitely a bad blow for one of the best Swiss athletes seen in recent decades.
