Inter market, another world champion may arrive

Inter Milan is looking at the future of its goalkeeping and has put Emiliano Martínez among the favourites. The Aston Villa goalkeeper, among the most reliable and respected on the international scene, is back as a concrete target (albeit in good company) because the English club is willing to consider offers.

The Birmingham club’s position has softened in recent weeks. The English club would be ready to let him leave if it can first lock down a replacement. Among the names being monitored is James Trafford, a young profile that could pave the way for the Argentine’s farewell.

In Milan, work is being done discreetly but with clear ideas. The Nerazzurri management considers Martínez a strong candidate to pick up the baton of Yann Sommer, who has a contract until 2026. The goal is to avoid future emergencies and secure a top goalkeeper before the situation becomes urgent.

Since 2020 Martínez, world champion with the Albiceleste national team, has been one of Aston Villa’s pillars. He has offered continuity, personality and decisive interventions in both the Premier League and European cups. His contract, valid until 2029, makes him an important asset, but his openness to new challenges and the club’s willingness to negotiate make the context favorable for a transfer.
