Pellegrino gives Parma first outside joy: beats Verona

Sunday’s Serie A Week 12 opened with a narrow away win for Parma, which beat Hellas Verona 2-1. At the Bentegodi, the ducali achieved their first external success thanks to Mateo Pellegrino’s double. Giovane’s momentary equalizing goal for the Scaligeri was useless.
Hellas sprint start, very close to 1-0 (1′) but the extreme Corvi was amazing on Orban’s close touch. Orban himself scored in the 8th minute, correcting a low center from Bradaric but was offside. Orban-tris: low shot to the side. At the first opportunity Parma takes the lead (18′): Sorensen hits the crossbar, on the rebound Pellegrino’s header makes it 1-0, triggering the joy of the more than 1,000 Emilian fans. Night falls on Hellas, unable to make itself dangerous. And when, as in the 33rd minute, Giovane is thrown into the net by an improvised Keita pass, Corvi makes up for it, coming off the posts abruptly. Four minutes of recovery and halftime.
In the resumption the hosts found the equalizer at 65′ with Giovane who scored with a lucky rebound. Ten minutes from the end, however, the Ducals went back ahead again with Pellegrino, who took advantage of a crazy pass from Giovane and beat Montipò with a touch underneath.
The home team’s goal was the result of a lucky rebound.
Thanks to this success Parma climbs to 11 points, +3 from the relegation zone, while Hellas Verona remains stuck at 6, last together with Fiorentina, which drew against Juventus.
