Perugia also ko in Trent. "Won with heart" supports Mendes

In front of 4,000 spectators (first “sold out” of the season), the Itas Trentino men’s team in fact safeguarded its home unbeaten streak, grabbing its 22nd consecutive victory at home against Perugia, which had been the last one, 392 days ago (October 27, 2024), to impose a home stop on Trentino Volleyball.
The big match of the seventh round of the regular season SuperLega Credem Banca, which today pitted the Italian champions against the European champions, therefore saw the Gialloblù lineup prevail, able to foil the leader Sir Susa Scai 3-1 at the end of a hard-fought and particularly spectacular match, but in which the hosts always had the ball in their hands, approaching each set better and losing lucidity only in the final of the third.
“We won this match with heart and character, elements that best sum up everything that is volleyball – commented the coach of the Trentino team Marcelo Mendez at the end of the match -. We played some very high-level moments, particularly in the fundamentals of hitting, receiving and attack”.
“With time the team is getting into its best gear, but it is essential to maintain a good level of concentration at all times to avoid situations of indecision and uncertainty, as happened to us in the end of the third and fourth sets. In that circumstance there is also a lot of credit to Perugia, which has great quality and put it on the plate; that is why I am happy with what we did, giving our best to bring home the result” added the Argentine.
