Lorenzo Buffon has died, farewell to legendary Milan goalkeeper

The soccer world is in mourning over the death of Lorenzo Buffon, a former Milan goalkeeper with whom he won five Scudetti in 10 years. The sad news was given by Patricia, his daughter, who spoke of a sudden cardiac arrest.
Buffon, who would have turned 96 on Dec. 19, wore the Genoa, Fiorentina and Inter jerseys in addition to his Rossoneri career, plus that of the national team.
Lorenzo was also related to Gianluigi: he was his grandfather’s second cousin. A curious detail for a family of goalkeepers, albeit very distantly.
The funeral will take place privately in Latisana, in the province of Udine, where Lorenzo Buffon lived and passed away just on Tuesday.
