Inter market, Beppe Marotta puts order on the future of the Nerazzurri bench

On the sidelines of Wednesday night’s Champions League match between Atletico Madrid and Inter Milan, Nerazzurri CEO Beppe Marotta spoke at Sky’s microphones with a precise response to the words of Diego Simeone, now the Colchoneros’ historic technical guide, who has heralded a future return to the Beneamata.
“I read it as an admiration for a club that he knows well and that is in the vanguard in Europe – said the Nerazzurri executive -We have a young coach, Chivu, to whom I wish many years at Inter. In our opinion he fits the profile we were looking for. You can win, you can lose, however, the profile was just what we were looking for, we are happy with him. I am convinced that he can stay at Inter many many years”.
Marotta also wanted to relieve a little bit’his coach from the pressure post derby defeat against Milan: “I think the path of the last two months is one where the performances are clearly sufficient, maybe the results are not. Last Sunday Milan won, credit to the winners, but our performance amply deserved sufficiency”.
Cristian Chivu, former Inter player between 2007 and 2014 as well as youth coach from 2018 to 2024 (moving from the Under 14 to the Under 17 first, then to the Under 18 and finally to the Primavera), took over from Simone Inzaghi, who went to Al-Hilal just before the Club World Cup. Diego Simeone, on the other hand, played for Inter Milan from 1997 to 1999 and coached in Italy so far between January and June 2011, leading Catania to safety in A.
