Montezemolo sees Ferrari worse than Juventus

“Who should be more worried between Ferrari fans and Juventus fans? It’s a good match!” Luca Cordero di Montezemolo responds with a joke to Tutti convocati on Radio 24, talking about the uninspiring moment of the Maranello team, which once again is forced to witness the triumphs of others, and of the Old Lady, lagging behind in the league and not particularly well placed in the Champions League. “I have to tell the truth, looking to the future, I think Ferrari fans should be more worried. So is Spalletti the right man to lift Juve? That I do not know” the seasoned manager then says.

Montezemolo then goes back to talking about the Prancing Horse, doing so by opening the memory book and spurring Fred Vasseur and his people on. “I was lucky enough to win 19 world championships between drivers and constructors. But I lost 11 of them at the ’last race– he emphasizes -. Sports is not an exact science. I hope that Ferrari, which for so many years has not been able to play it to the’last race, that at least that will do it, because it would mean being competitive. I dream of a Ferrari capable, in the worst case scenario, of losing the World Championship at the’last race, not of not being out of the World Championship”.

Next weekend both Ferrari and Juventus will be busy. For Formula 1, the time will come for the Qatar Grand Prix, which will be run at the Losail track. Certainly the two drivers of the ‘Rossa’, Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton, both protagonists of a year that has fallen short (and by a lot) of expectations, are not among the favorites, but the hope is that a tailspin will come from the Monegasque or the Englishman or, why not, from both. Instead, the Bianconeri, refreshed by their success in Norway in extremis, will face Cagliari in Turin on Saturday and will try to win the entire stake in order not to lose contact with the top of the class.
