Qatar GP, Lando Norris does the math: what he needs to win the World Cup

On the track there are no friends. This is well known by Lando Norris who, with two GPs to go in the World Championship, will have to earn what would be his first World Champion title alone, without the’help of anyone else.

The Briton, complicated by the disqualification of the two McLarens in Las Vegas, has seen his lead over Max Verstappen shrink dramatically: from 42 to 24 points. Given the sexceptional form of the four-time World Champion, it is clear that some concern is in Lando Norris’s head.

In addition, as stated by Andrea Stella, McLaren team principal, no one will favor the World Championship leader. Hence, Oscar Piastri, also distanced, by 24 points, will do everything he can to put his teammate in crisis.

With two races left in the season, there are still 58 points at stake (two GPs and Saturday’s Sprint in Qatar). To be certain of winning the World Championship, Lando Norris needs to win, in the last two rounds, at least 27 points (26 if he were to win one of the two races for the issue of season wins). In fact, he could even lift the trophy in Qatar if he can increase his lead over his two rivals by at least two points. A mission that is not impossible. He will have to do it alone, driving his McLaren, remembering that he has no friends on the track.
