Wojciech Szczesny hasn&#8217t forgotten Juventus: “It built me up, taught me discipline, because it&#8217s a completely different team from the ones I knew. L’Arsenal is beautiful soccer, but without the pressure of winning the championship”.

“Roma gave me a taste of success– also recalled the Polish goalkeeper in his country’s edition of GQ– Barcelona gives methe pure joy of being a footballer. Juventus is a daily routine under maximum pressure. There, winning is the’only thing that matters. And I was able to learn that. Becoming an important part of such a club is incredibly uplifting. I could have replaced Buffon. There’was no greater challenge in the world of goalkeepers”.

And again: “I thought I would play two or three years and they would find someone younger, but in the end I kept extending contracts until I became the oldest player at Juventus, with the most appearances, the most experience, and the one who started building the team”.

“I played my first season at Barcelona for free. What I received from Barcelona was exactly what I had to give back to Juve for terminating my contract early”, Szczesny finally emphasized.
