Ferdinando De Giorgi explains the'explosion of volleyball, tennis and Jannik Sinner

Ferdinando De Giorgi, coach of the world champion men’s volleyball team Italy, participated in a meeting in Foggia at the Lanza classical high school, where he gave a talk addressed to female students from Foggia and where he talked about the great success that volleyball and tennis are having in our country right now.
“We cannot compare ourselves to the soccer movement, however, we are sports that have planned and work. It is not a fact of today the explosion of volleyball and tennis. As far as my discipline is concerned, it has been years that the work of the federation and the’attention to the youth of the area have made it possible to have a competitive national team”.
“The same did tennis a decade ago and today it has seven, eight players and players of the highest level. Then Sinner would also come out in the middle of the desert, but the problem was not Sinner but giving a quantity of players. On soccer, I cannot comment. You have to know the dynamics, but probably something has to change”.
“There’s always learning, putting yourself in a position to grow and change. Train and train because you have to be prepared, prepare well to prepare. There’s a strong connection to this city because I attended Isef here, then exercise science and I’m on the exercise science for sports games organizational chart.”
“These were important years. I remember my trips by train Lecce-Foggia to attend the so-called barrage subjects, I was already playing in the league, but until Wednesday I was busy with my studies. So I was traveling, studying and playing. That is what you have to tell and tell the kids”.
