Castro strikes in the final and takes Bologna to Coppa Italia quarterfinals

Bologna has qualified for the quarterfinals of the Coppa Italia, a trophy of which it is the holder having won the 2024-2025 edition: the team coached by Vincenzo Italiano, in front of the home crowd at the Dall’Ara, got the better of Parma in the Emilian derby, with the 2-1 victory accrued in the final when it actually seemed all set for penalties.
It was actually the Ducali who took the lead, thanks to a goal scored on 13′ by Adrian Benedyczak: served by Lovik, the Polish striker beat Ravaglia with his right, giving the Gialloblù a 1-0 lead. Bologna’s equalizer, on the other hand, arrived in the closing stages of the first half: at 38′ in fact, Jonathan Rowe took advantage of an opponent’s defensive error to find himself in front of the goalkeeper, failing a first attempt but scoring on the subsequent tap-in.
Intense resumption, both teams try to avoid penalties and it is, at the’89’, Bologna that succeeds: Holm’s cross towards Castro, the Argentine striker gets rid of Estevez’s marking and beats Guaita with his header for 2-1, a result that does not change anymore until the triple whistle. Bologna, therefore, is off to the best possible start in its title defense, which will continue in the quarters against the winner of Lazio-Milan.
