Remounting Benedyczak’s early goal with goals from Rowe in the final minutes of the first half and Castro in the 89th minute, Bologna eliminated Parma in the round of 16 of the Coppa Italia, thus starting in the best possible way the defense of the tricolor rosette won last spring by beating Milan in the final. Vincenzo Italiano, coach of the Rossoblù, expressed all his satisfaction with the result on Thursday, also pointing out another reason to smile, namely the return to the field of Ciro Immobile, who played the last eleven minutes after an’absence of more than three months due to injury.

“We wanted to avoid penalties and we succeeded – said Italiano to the microphones of Sport Mediaset -. I fielded all the strikers I had at my disposal and it paid off. We played a great second half and I am happy with the win, but the best news is that Ciro is back playing. From here on we will have an’extra weapon in attack”. For the Rossoblù coach, Immobile&#8217s return will also allow Bologna to try different arrangements on the green rectangle: “We can try the two role strikers, with Immobile’s injury I preferred to alternate Castro and Dallinga: now that he is back we can attack the depth in a different way”.

Bologna thus regained success in the Coppa Italia three days after the league defeat, again at the Dall’Ara, against Cremonese, dragged by Jamie Vardy’s double. Before Monday, the Rossoblù were coming from an important positive series, with as many as 12 consecutive useful results obtained between September 28 (2-2 in Lecce in the league) and November 27 (4-1 in the Europa League against Salzburg). The 2025 of the Felsinei foresees a very intense December: there will not only be league matches against Lazio, Juventus and Sassuolo and the Europa League match against Celta, but also the Italian Super Cup in which Bologna will face Inter in the semifinals on December 19 in Riyadh.
