Alberto Razzetti, silver with regret: the Azure does not rest

In spite of confirming himself as the European vice-champion in the short course, winning the silver medal in the 200-meter medley final in Lublin, Alberto Razzetti is unable to feel satisfied and, indeed, is full of regrets after the podium ceremony. The Ligurian swimmer finished his race in 1’52″05, placing second behind Spain’s Hugo Gonzalez de Oliveira (1’51″39 was the latter’s time, which earned him the gold medal). However, Razzetti beat in the sprint for the place d’honor the Turkish Berke Saka, who finished his race with a time of 1’52″25, but to official Fin channels he did not hide his disappointment.
“Too bad, too bad, too bad – exclaimed Razzetti -. I missed almost all the turns and lost the gold because of my own fault. I have so many regrets, because without these mistakes I would have taken the Spaniard. It will serve as a lesson for the next races. ‘Rocket’ then swam the 200-meter butterfly as well, qualifying for the final with a time of 1’51’99, fourth overall: “I am still thinking about the 200 medley and I can’t enjoy this’other final. I am angry and motivated for tomorrow: I will also have the 400 medley” explained again the Blue, who aims to close the continental review in the best possible way, forgetting today’s regrets.
Born in Lavagna, in the province of Genoa, on June 2, 1999, Alberto Razzetti is one of the most successful swimmers of his generation, especially in the short pool, where he has won two world titles (as well as two silvers and five bronzes) and two at the European Championships (with four silvers and a bronze) in his career. In the Olympic pool, on the other hand, he boasts one silver and one bronze at the World Championships, as well as one gold, two silver and two bronze at the Continental Championships. At the Italian Absolute he has won nineteen national titles and twenty-six titles at the youth level. Razzetti is, among other things, the European record holder in the 200-meter dolphin, with a time of 1’48″64.
Razzetti also participated in the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games (held in the summer of 2021 because of the Covid) and the Paris 2024 Games.
