Fibrentina’s nightmarish season continues, beaten 3-1 in Reggio Emilia by Sassuolo and still winless after 14 days of the Serie A championship. The purple team foundered at the Mapei Stadium under the blows of Volpato, Muharemovic and Koné, and is still last at 6 points. On the other hand, the neroverdi thanks to this success reach 20, climbing to eighth place in the standings. Even the arrival of Paolo Vanoli did not provoke a reaction from the Tuscan team, which instead showed internal rifts in the locker room, such as the quarrel between Kean and some teammates over a penalty.

The’incident occurred in the first minutes of the match played at Mapei Stadium. On 9′ the lily players earned a penalty kick thanks to Muric’s foul on Parisi, but the purple players argued when the shot from the penalty spot was taken. Mandragora approached to take the penalty but Kean intervened, intending to kick him. The blue striker stood in front of the ball and exchanged a few words with Mandragora. The standoff lasted until Fiorentina captain Parisi intervened and pushed Kean away, allowing Mandragora to take and score the penalty kick that put the Viola ahead.

After Fiorentina’s goal, Kean, who was very displeased, did not join the celebration with the rest of the team, and returned to his own half of the field with his head down. The lead lasted just five minutes, and the one who betrayed Fiorentina was its bulwark, David De Gea, who made a mistake on the occasion of Volpato’s conclusion that led to the hosts’ equalizer. Before halftime came Sassuolo’s overtaking goal, scored by Muharemovic at 45′ after a collective error by the purple defense and De Gea himself. In the second half, despite Pinamonti’s injury, Sassuolo closed the accounts for good.

At 65′ came Koné’s 3-1 that sealed the result: on a counterattack Volpato served the Canadian who netted the trio, with De Gea motionless. Fiorentina falls again and now the situation becomes dramatic for the Viola.
