Milan market, eyes on champion outcast at Real Madrid

There is one obviously discordant note in Milan&#8217s start to the season and that is Pervis Estupiñán. The 1998-born full-back was bought in the summer from Brighton for 17 million euros and was supposed to replace Theo Hernandez, who flew to wealthy Saudi Arabia. Estupiñán, however, got passed over by Davide Bartesaghi in Massimiliano Allegri’s hierarchies and, when he was deployed, he certainly did not shine. In the last Coppa Italia match against Lazio, he was deployed as a starter but was among the worst players on the field: the Biancocelesti skipped him with ease throughout the match and Allegri in the post-match defined “fairly good” the Ecuadorian&#8217s performance.

Acc Milan’s season has started rather well after a disappointing'year…
… back on the bench is Max Allegri, who has put many things back in place…
… even if the roster is far from the one characterized by the three Dutchmen: Ruud Gullit, Frank Rijkaard and Marco van Basten
"We could use a Ruud Gullit, such a powerful one we have been missing for years" say the fans
Gullit at Milan was not only a great footballer…
…but also a symbol of an era
The Dutchman arrived at Milan in the summer of 1987
He was bought by PSV Eindhoven for a record sum at the time
Berlusconi wanted to build a dominant team in Italy and Europe
Gullit was the perfect symbol of the ambitions of the Milanese entrepreneur
1987-88: won the Scudetto immediately, breaking a long abstinence of Milan

In the same 1987 Ruud won the Ballon d'Oro: the maximum at the indivual level
1988-89 and 1989-90: he was absolute protagonist of the two consecutive Champions Cups won by Milan
He also won several European Super Cups, Intercontinental Cups and other Scudettos (1991-92, 1992-93)

Compared to Sacchi with Capello he had less space: in 1993 he left Milan for Sampdoria

Although Milan is only fighting in one competition, Massimiliano Allegri still wants to shore up the left lane in January and in the last hours the Ferland Mendy’hypothesis has popped up. The French full-back is totally out of Real Madrid’s plans and this is shown by the scant minutes Xabi Alonso has given him so far: just 90 minutes between La Liga and the Champions League. Until a few years ago he was among the best in his role, then a few too many injuries jeopardized his career and now he is on Real Madrid’s departure list. He still has 3 years left on his contract with the Blancos but Florentino Perez would be happy to get rid of him.

For the left lane the Diavolo has practically already signed the very young Juan Arizala, class of 2005 coming to Italy from Deportivo Independiente Medellin. The executives of the Rossoneri club had been following the player (who also had several admirers in the Premier League) for months and have finally decided to finalize the deal: according to rumors, Milan will pay into the coffers of the Colombian club about 3 million euros plus a percentage on the future resale of the promising South American outfielder. If finalized, Deportivo Independiente Medellin will score the highest sale in its history.

Max Milan will most likely seek a loan arrangement for Arizala right away so he can settle in Italy and play with continuity.
