Lisa Vittozzi and Dorothea Wierer, Sunday to forget

Suvi Minkkinen succumbed in the final kilometer allowing Lisa Theresa Hauser to win the women’s pursuit in Oestersund. The Finnish woman, who dominated the race until the last shot of the last series to which she had come without making any mistakes, made a mistake instead, paying for her fatigue in the final part of the course, where she suffered the overpowering comeback of the Austrian, who won without mistakes in 30’14″2 after three years of fasting, while the host Anna Magnusson, who confirmed her second position from Friday’s sprint.
French Camille Bened and Norwegian Maren Kirkeeide followed, while Sweden’s Hanna Oeberg made a great comeback by finishing ninth with bib number 59.
Out of the top ten were the Italian women racers: Lisa Vittozzi made two errors for an 11th place, Dorothea Wierer finished 19th with three errors. One point in the overall standings also for Samuela Comola, 40th with three errors, while Hanna Auchentaller finished 57th with six errors and Michela Carrara 59th with nine errors.
In the overall standings Minkkinen retains the lead with 191 points, chased by Magnusson with 174 and Bened with 148m, Wierer is fifth with 136. With the Swedish trip archived, the calendar offers the Hochfilzen races next weekend, with sprint, pursuit and relay.
