Udinese-Genoa, mea culpa of Kosta Runjaic, Daniele De Rossi enjoys Norton-Cuffy

In the penultimate match of the fourteenth day of Serie A, Genoa beat Udinese 2-1 away from home, and Friuli coach Kosta Runjaic takes full responsibility for the defeat: “I am here in the press conference, despite the disqualification, because I am primarily responsible for what happened. I am disappointed and angry about the approach and the fact that the boys have to understand that matches like this, if you cannot win them, you have to do everything at least not to lose them”.
“Today’s statistics we can take them and throw them in the bin – added Runjaic – because defensive naiveté prevails. We did too little to win the game. I don’t think the problem was the changes that didn’t affect us, because that first half, in which we approached very badly, was played by the starters. We have to work on so many aspects. I am the first person in charge and I also know what needs to be done. I will do it with my methods”.
These instead are the words of Daniele De Rossi, with whom Genoa seems to have changed gear: “I saw a team, some interesting plots, we played and dribbled, but I did not like it when we went too low after the goal made, we have to improve in this. We fought as a real family and that is not a given. I myself have been part of teams that fought for feints or fought in 8, or were picky when they came in. Instead, we all fought together, from the first minute to 96′”.
“Now we have to get as far away from the relegation zone as possible but we have to wear the helmet because now we will face teams much stronger than us. I am happy with the way the guys came in as the game went on. And Norton-Cuffy will become very strong, he is growing and listening to the advice of the whole staff,” De Rossi concluded.
