Cristian Chivu attacks Var, Mkhitaryan and Zielinski furious

Cristian Chivu spoke after the Champions League match between Inter and Liverpool: “Refereeing decisions? I talk little about it, the referee interpreted the dynamics of the match and the action well, Var should understand the dynamics. We also have to fight against injustice and episodes. It was right a draw the way it was set up. At the beginning we suffered their pressure but then afterwards we found the key. Then comes an episode at the end of the game, already the second one in Champions and unfortunately we couldn’t bring points. We had the courage to try all the way, we had to be more polished going forward but it was a game conditioned by those initial changes.”

“We expected their intensity, we had to start better. Slowly we got into the game and found some storylines. In the second half we tried to play on the wave of the end of the first, the last few minutes we went down a little bit’ too much. I congratulate Palladino for the win, I will see him soon”. Palladino who when asked about the episode that decided the San Siro match had no doubts in commenting how in his opinion there were not the extremes to whistle a penalty kick. Chivu in response entrenched himself behind a no comment, laughing.

Less diplomatic were the Inter players who spoke in the heat of the moment: “It hurts to lose a game like that, then you cannot explain a penalty like that. We have to work harder, look forward and try to change things” the comment of Mkhitaryan. Even angrier Zielinski: “Unfortunately, if they whistle these fouls then they will all be penalties soon”. And even Van Dijk himself was doubtful, although he in fact accepted the gift: : “The’referee gave it: let“let&#8217s say I think the goal he cancelled us out should have been validated, so…”.
