Inter continues its casting for the Nerazzurri goalkeeper ahead of next season. The Milanese club in June will say goodbye to Yann Sommer, whose contract is expiring, and the Biscione’s intention is to decide on a new number one as soon as possible to avoid uncomfortable situations in the summer. One of the biggest names circulated in recent weeks, that of Guglielmo Vicario, now seems to be the least likely solution. The Tottenham goalkeeper doesn&#8217t fit the identikit because of the high cost of the club&#8217s ticket, which has risen to 30 million euros since the former Empoli man moved to Spurs in the Premier League.

In pole position now would be Noah Atubolu: Inter is pushing hard for the 2002-born goalkeeper, a Freiburg starter and long courted. For age and cost issues, Atubolu seems to be the ideal name, and his contract expiring in 2027 favors a January transfer, as Freiburg may be forced to lower the demands on his card. The German fullback is also liked in the Bundesliga, and even AC Milan has its eye on him as a post-Maignan option. Atubolu is currently valued at 20 million euros.

The third candidate is Cagliari goalkeeper Elia Caprile, who in turn has suitors in the Premier League. The sporting director of the Rossoblù Guido Angelozzi has warned the Nerazzurri: “Caprile is strong, we are talking about a player who is being watched in Italy but also abroad. There are very interested teams, especially in the Premier League”. On the defense front, the Nerazzurri are trying to aim high: one target would be Real Madrid defender Antonio Rüdiger, whose contract is expiring. Several Arab clubs have expressed their appreciation of him and are ready to shower him with money, but the center-back is looking for a viable option to stay in Europe. Inter Milan could be the ideal solution but there will be a question of assessing the German&#8217s physical condition.

In recent seasons Antonio Rüdiger has missed several games due to numerous physical problems: last season he had a muscle injury that forced him to stay in the pits for three weeks, then he tore his meniscus and did not play for two months. In September 2025 the German defender had a thigh problem that he was able to work out just a few days ago. Overall, in the last two seasons the’former Chelsea player has missed 27 games between Real Madrid and the German national team, a number that must compulsorily make clubs possibly interested in the defender think.
