Lindsey Vonn after best practice time in St. Moritz: "Never been in such good shape"

U.S. outfielder Lindsey Vonn, 41, who returned to racing last winter after a nearly six-year hiatus, is elated after setting the fastest time in the first timed run of the women’s World Cup downhill in St. Moritz.
“I feel great and physically I am probably in the best shape of my life, which is fun. My body doesn’t hurt, which is definitely the most important thing” added Vonn, who will open her season on Friday, in a year when the main and stated goal will be the Olympic races in Cortina: with the Tofane Olympia the Minnesota native has always had a special feeling.
“My goal was to get much stronger. Last season I didn’t have enough time to prepare and regain my muscle mass– explained Lindsey -.I’m still a little bit lighter than my peak form, but this summer I was able to gain about 5.5 kg and I was delighted”.
“Now I have everything I need: physique, equipment, coach”, said the American, who called on former Norwegian skier Aksel Lund Svindal to accompany her in her Olympic season. “Everything is perfectly aligned, I couldn’t be in a better position,” concluded the 4-time World Cup winner and Olympic downhill gold medalist in 2010 in Vancouver.
