Roma, Gian Piero Gasperini explains the latest defeats

Roma coach Gian Piero Gasperini explained the team’s two setbacks in the league. the narrow defeats to Napoli and Cagliari, on the eve of the Europa League match against Celtic: “Roma is not tired physically, the parameters say so. But in the last two games we have been less effective”.

“I struggle to understand what kind of fatigue you can have playing after four days, because recovery is possible – he added -. Then there can be a different fatigue, nervous, due to other situations. Under the physical-athletic aspect, however, it is a team that runs until the end”.

Tackling the goal scoring problem, on the other hand, he explained: “We have never been that prolific, but it is never a problem of a single department: probably the whole team needs to return to a better expression of play that leads us to more dangerous conclusions”.

Discussing specifically on Ferguson, he pointed out that “there are no dislikes or sympathies” because “he is judged like everyone” then “the field speaks and he has had so many chances. The example of Hermoso is glaring: his attitude has allowed him to be a mainstay. I hope it is the same for Ferguson”.
