Fiorentina crisis, Rocco Commisso raises his voice

On the immediate eve of the Conference League match against Dynamo Kyiv, Fiorentina patron Rocco Commisso answered questions from ‘La Nazione’ from the United States, responding to criticism of him and trying to point the way out of a crisis that, results in hand, risks becoming irreversible. Commisso explained that he is in daily contact with executives in Florence: “I stay updated every day through dg Ferrari and the management team – he said -. We are living in a difficult situation and we must get out of it in any way, we cannot allow Fiorentina to go down”.
“We are all responsible and everyone must feel responsible. Responsibility is shared by everyone: the club, the players and all the people who work around the team. In any case, the players must understand that they too are responsible, that they must put in all their contribution and dedication, always” added the lily-livered president, from 2019 at the managerial and economic helm of the club. Commisso also spoke about the relationship with the fans: “We just have to apologize for what happened in Reggio Emilia. We had asked the fans to follow us en masse, even on away trips. Four thousand showed up, effectively filling the stadium”.
“Kilometers, sacrifices, pure passion. And we did not respond as we should. A situation that saddened me so much. Our fans understood the moment very well, they chose to put aside their deepest discontents to support us and help the team rise in the standings. I am not talking about those who have threatened our players: certain individuals cannot call themselves fans and as a club we immediately took action with the authorities to prosecute those who are guilty of these shameful and unworthy acts” Commisso further explained, referring to the threats received and reported in recent days by wives and girlfriends of players on social media.
F Fiorentina has won four official matches this season, all in the Conference League: the Viola beat Polissya Zhytomyr twice in the preliminaries, winning 3-0 in the first leg away and 3-2, on a comeback, in the return leg in front of their home crowd, and then prevailed in the League Phase 2-0 against Sigma Olomouc at home and 3-0 against Rapid in Vienna. The latter, in fact, was the last victory recorded by the Viola and came last October 23: in the following nine games, between Italy and Europe, came three draws and as many as six defeats, the last three consecutive, which exacerbated a crisis already evident in the first weeks.
