Inter market, for the defense is also looking to England

At the end of the season, Inter will most likely lose two highly experienced elements in defense: Stefan de Vrij and Francesco Acerbi. Both with expiring contracts, they now seem to have reached the end credits of their experience in Milan, and the club is already moving to identify possible successors to the two seasoned centerbacks. Among the profiles evaluated by Beppe Marotta is that of Marcos Senesi, who could leave Bournemouth for free given his contract expiration set for June 30, 2026. The English club has had several discussions with the defender’s entourage for renewal but still no understanding has been found.

Born in Concordia in May 1997, Marcos Senesi is a defender very skilled in the aerial game and man-marking, a profile reminiscent of Francesco Acerbi but with more speed. Raised in Argentina in the ranks of San Lorenzo, the defender moved to Feyenoord in 2019 for €7 million. With the Dutch club he collected 116 appearances topped by 9 goals and 7 assists, then in the summer of 2022 he moved to Bournemouth for 15 million euros. Today he is a key part of the English team but, if the extension situation does not unblock, he could leave the club in the summer.

Beppe Marotta and Piero Ausilio are also at work on the goalkeeper front: Yann Sommer’s contract is expiring and the Nerazzurri want to identify his heir as soon as possible. One of the names circulated most insistently in recent weeks is that of Guglielmo Vicario, but he now seems to be the least likely solution. Tottenham’s Italian goalkeeper does not fit the identikit because of the high cost of the card: 30 million euros may not be enough to buy him, a considerable sum that has discouraged the Nerazzurri. On the club&#8217s notebook is Noah Atubolu, a class of 2002 starter for Freiburg and long courted. For age and cost issues Atubolu seems to be the ideal name, and his contract expiring in 2027 favors a January transfer as Freiburg may be forced to lower the demands on his card.

Lights are also on Cagliari goalkeeper Elia Caprile, who himself has suitors in the Premier League. The sporting director of the Rossoblù Guido Angelozzi has warned the Nerazzurri: “Caprile is strong, we are talking about a player who is being watched in Italy but also abroad. There are very interested teams, especially in the Premier League”. The words of the manager of the island club are not surprising given the excellent performances that the 2001-class goalkeeper, a great protagonist of Cagliari’s season so far, is churning out. The Sardinians shelled out 8 million euros to snatch him from Napoli and his value has grown a lot since the beginning of the season.
