Milan market, Joshua Zirkzee resurfaces: Roma risks mockery

All Milan will be back on the market in January. In particular, ithe name forcefully back on the table at Via Aldo Rossi is that of Joshua Zirkzee, who has become the first choice of sporting director Igli Tare. At Old Trafford do not seem intent on opposing Zirkzee’s departure, either to move to AC Milan or to Roma, another club that has moved in recent weeks to enter into negotiations. In fact, several members of the United milieu would welcome a transfer of him, considering that the former Bologna man has yet to prove he is worth the more than 40 million invested in the summer of 2024. Theconditions set by United, however, are strict: loan with a buy-back obligation and possible go-ahead only at the end of January, when Mbeumoand Diallo will return from the African Cup of Nations. However, these very conditions could offer room for the Rossoneri to soften the Red Devils’ position and work on a more favorable solution.

Gian Piero Gasperini meanwhile cannot wait any longer. He wants, as soon as possible, his new striker so he can have alternative solutions in attack. Given for certain the farewell to Evan Ferguson (the Irish striker could return to Brighton, ending his loan prematurely), here is that the Giallorossi club is called upon to replace him with a valuable forward who can, finally, guarantee Roma goals and weight in attack. Until now, the Giallorossi team has had to deal with a limping offensive department (also due to a few too many injuries). Now it is time to fix that.

It is no mystery that the number one target is Joshua Zirkzee himself. The former Bologna striker is struggling enormously in the ranks of Manchester United. As a matter of fact, he is not central to the project and, as a result, would be quite happy to get involved again elsewhere. The’idea of playing at a club where he can return to prominence appeals to him greatly. At Bologna, the team revolved around him; in Manchester, he is not even among the first options for the attack. With a World Cup on the horizon, it is clear that being able to play continuously, in an important square like the Giallorossi, would be crucial for Joshua Zirkzee himself. But AC Milan has now entered powerfully and Roma could be left holding the bag.
