Atalanta market, everything changes for Ademola Lookman

Last summer was very eventful for Atalanta and, above all, for Ademola Lookman: the Nigerian star was contacted by Inter Milan and was determined to move to Milan at all costs. The previous summer, that of 2024, Paris Saint Germain tried to buy him but the Percassi family blocked everything, promising not to hinder Lookman’s transfer in the following summer session. This, however, was not the case: in July, the Bergamaschi said goodbye to Mateo Retegui (who flew to Saudi Arabia for almost 70 million euros) but the bomber’s transfer was not planned, consequently the Orobici could not lose Lookman as well and prevented his departure.

The Nigerian striker was bought by the Paris Saint Germain in 2020.

The Nigerian champion did not take it well and tried to force Atalanta&#8217s wall without succeeding, however. In the end Lookman remained in Bergamo but the rift with the club seems irremediable and in all likelihood the player will move next summer. On his tracks was especially Galatasaray, which was determined to embellish the squad with a top-level purchase. In Turkey Lookman would have found his friend and compatriot Victor Osimhen but now the market hypothesis is likely to fade as the club wants to take advantage of the opportunity to buy Mohamed Salah, who recently broke with Liverpool.

After the draw against Leeds, the Egyptian star stood in front of the microphones and shot his mouth off at his coach Arne Slot: “I can&#8217t believe I&#8217m sitting on the bench for 90 minutes: it&#8217s the third time in a row, it&#8217s never happened to me in my career and I&#8217m very disappointed. I have done so much for this club over the years, especially last season…now I am sitting on the bench and I don&#8217t know why. I think it is very clear that someone wants to dump all the blame for this situation on me. If it had happened to any other player, the club would have defended him: instead, it seems to me that they said ‘throw him under the bus too, let’s blame him’ but I don&#8217t deserve this because what I have and what I am I have earned on the field. I always said I had a good relationship with Slot, but now there simply is no relationship”.

For punishment, Mohamed Salah was not called up for the Champions League match against Inter Milan and is in the balance for the league match against Brighton. Arne Slot obviously did not take the footballer&#8217s words well, and many Liverpool fans also criticized Salah for his outburst. The chances of him leaving England as early as January are very high.

In pole are several clubs from Saudi Arabia but Galatasaray will do everything to get him. Should the deal go through, the Turkish club would say goodbye permanently to the Ademola Lookman’option. In the past the Nigerian striker has been approached by a number of Premier League clubs, possible that someone will come forward next summer.
