Inter market, it’s a challenge with Juventus for the red-blue jewel

One of the biggest surprises of this first part of the Serie A season is undoubtedly Marco Palestra, a young full-back currently on loan to Cagliari from Atalanta. The 2005-born player is impressing everyone with top-notch performances and, despite his very young age, he already shows a remarkable degree of confidence on the field that have made him a staple of Fabio Pisacane’s lineup. Marco Palestra’s excellent performance has not gone unnoticed by top clubs, and the Buccinasco-born player has ended up in the sights especially of Inter and Juventus, which are always looking for young talent to green up their roster and plan for the future.
Juventus was among the first clubs to put Marco Palestra in their sights, but recently Inter’s also pinned their antennae to the young defender. To avoid losing the player, the Bianconeri are thinking of anticipating a January swoop and leaving the youngster on loan in Sardinia until the end of the season. In the coming weeks, there could be contacts between Juventus and l’Atalanta, the owner of Marco Palestra’s tag. The two clubs, moreover, have excellent relations and this could be an important factor in the success of the negotiation. After the Ademola Lookman case, however, the feeling between Atalanta and Inter has cooled.
Physically strong, 186 centimeters tall and endowed with a great run: Marco Palestra is a full-band outside player who, by virtue of his great pliability, can be employed both on the right and on the left. Skilled in both phases, thanks to good technique, dribbling, game vision and tactical intelligence, he can make himself dangerous going forward with his insertions and ability to serve inviting crosses for teammates. The young full-back played one year in the Inter Academy before moving, still very young, to the youth academy of Atalanta. After the entire trafila in the youth ranks, Palestra landed in the Orobica first team in 2024 and last summer chose Cagliari to continue his growth path.
L’Inter is also working to sign a goalkeeper in the summer soccer market session.
Yann Sommer’s contract is expiring and Guglielmo Vicario, currently with Tottenham, could arrive in his place. The 29-year-old goalkeeper has a valuation of about 30 million euros, a large sum that would, however, guarantee Inter to secure a top-tier 29-year-old goalkeeper.
Who arrived in London in 2023 from Tottenham, Vicario won a Europa League title with Spurs, although he has been criticized by fans and insiders in England in recent times. The player had previously been approached by Inter Milan, before opting for a foreign experience.
