L’Inter is tightening the timetable for a new goalkeeper: Yann Sommer will say goodbye to the Biscione at the end of the year, and the Nerazzurri executives according to rumors have a clear name at the top of the purchase list. Guglielmo Vicario is gaining more and more prominence in the preferences of president Beppe Marotta and his staff, who are looking for an experienced but still under-30 and international-level profile. The Tottenham goalkeeper has all the requirements to fit the identikit, and Inter is ready to get serious: the Azzurro wants to return to Italy, and has already let the Milanese club know he is interested in the offer.

Who arrived in London in 2023 from Tottenham, Vicario won a Europa League title with Spurs, although in the last period he has been criticized by fans and insiders in England. In the past, the player had already been contacted by Inter Milan, before choosing the’experience abroad. His value is estimated at around 30 million euros and he has a contract until 2028 with the London club. The Nerazzurri are hoping to close the deal for a little over 20 million euros, perhaps with bonuses. Vicario would land in Milan after the 2026 World Cup, in which he hopes to participate by defending the Azzurri colors. In addition to the goal, Inter is also working on the defense for an early January strike.

The sporting director Piero Ausilio will have 20 to 30 million euros at his disposal for the winter market: the priority seems to be precisely that of a central defender. The number one name on the purchase list is Mario Gila, a Lazio defender who has long been in the Nerazzurri’s (and other) sights. Gila, class of 2000, falls within the spending parameters of the club’s ownership and at the moment receives a one million euro salary at Lazio, easily doubled by the Nerazzurri. The biancocelesti picked up the player for 6 million euros from Real Madrid in 2022 and his current market value is around 20 million euros.

L’Inter is preparing the assault, and if the right offer comes Lazio will sit at the table, despite the fact that Gila is an important player for Maurizio Sarri: the Capitoline club needs to sell in order to get back to buying in the market. Moreover, the player&#8217s agent is the same as Lautaro Martinez&#8217s, Alejandro Camano, with whom Inter has very good relations.

Inter president Beppe Marotta on the sidelines of the match against Liverpool had spoken about possible interventions in January to reinforce Chivu: “We look at the January market very carefully. If there is an opportunity to reinforce the team we will certainly take it into consideration”.
