Pisa, Gilardino now worried: "I didn"&expect"
Pisa coach Alberto Gilardino commented with some concern on his team’s defeat against Lecce in Friday night’s salvation clash. “The team was unrecognizable, I am very bitter and I take all the responsibility. You cannot face such a match without badness and with such an attitude, if we do not give our best unfortunately we become vulnerable against any opponent”.
A performance that surprised him in a negative way: “I had had no warning of such a drop, in fact I was convinced that everyone was willing to give a strong performance in a direct clash. I wanted a team willing to sacrifice, it is up to me to take charge and figure out what happened”.
“We lost two direct clashes after six useful results in a row, and I don”t forget the compliments they gave us”, continued the Nerazzurri coach.
“We were long, frantic, with technical errors that transmit confidence to others – is Gilardino’s ruthless scrutiny. I saw fragile footballers. I really hope it is only an accident of the road, now we have Cagliari but however much we lost on the road we must try to score points anywhere and against anyone”.
