The dominance of Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz is so total on the ATP circuit that many are already comparing them to Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic, despite their young age. Are the “New Two” already at the level of the “Big Three”? Jack Draper in an interview with Tennis Mentor was also asked about the issue. The British player, held back by an injury at the end of the year, has been pointed to by many as the future third wheel for the pair that is now dominating world tennis with virtually no rivals. According to the Briton, the two play so well that a comparison with the big three can be made.

Baghdatis drastic on Jannik Sinner-Carlos Alcaraz comparison
The'former Cypriot tennis player talked about the two dominators of the ATP circuit in an interview with tennis365
"Who will win the most Slams? It's a very difficult question"
"I would choose maybe Alcaraz because he has more variety in the game"
"But mentally he is less constant than Sinner…"

…I think this could play to his disadvantage in the future"

"Anyway yes, for now I choose Alcaraz"

Baghdatis also indicated the third wheel that could fit between the two contenders
"I’d say Fonseca, he’s one of those who could do it, and sooner or later he will"
"In a Slam tournament apart from him I don’t see many others, maybe Zverev"

On comparisons with the Big Three: "It's difficult, once Federer, Nadal and Djokovic had much stronger opponents"

“It&#8217s very difficult to compare them. Nadal, Federer and Djokovic have been incredible, and more importantly they have been at the highest level for so many years, they have been so consistent that it will be very difficult to match them and achieve their results. But from a purely tennis perspective, that is, considering what Sinner and Alcaraz are doing on the court and not the numbers and the wins, I think at their best level they are as good as the Big Three at their best time. They still have a long way to go before they get into that club, but their tennis honestly is really out of this world. And I think everybody can agree on that”.

Jack Draper has managed to beat both Sinner and Alcaraz in the past, but he has not yet achieved a consistency of results to get to the level of his two rivals. On the major circuit he has won three titles, the most important of which is the Indian Wells Masters 1000 in 2025, while the best Slam result so far is the semifinal reached at the US Open in 2024. Alcaraz and Sinner have won a combined total of 10 Grand Slam titles, and have won 24 ATP circuit tournaments apiece in their careers. Former Cypriot tennis player Marcos Baghdatis in an interview with Tennis 365 debated who will win more in his career.

“It is very difficult to say. I would say Alcaraz because he has more variety in his game. Mentally, though, he is perhaps less consistent than Sinner-this is something that could backfire on him. That said, my choice still falls on Alcaraz”. L’former world No. 8 has identified Joao Fonseca as a possible third wheel.

“He is one of those who might be able to meddle in the rivalry, and I think he will”. The young Brazilian star reached his best ranking in 2025, ending the season at position number 24 in the world classic with 1,635 points. “But aside from Fonseca, especially in a Slam where it is played best of five sets, I don&#8217t see who can stop Alcaraz and Sinner. Yes, maybe Alexander Zverev can win. But it will be tough”.
