Matteo Gabbia, sigh of relief but Supercup at risk

Sigh of relief for Matteo Gabbia whose injury is less serious than expected. During the match Milan drew against Sassuolo, the Rossoneri defender sustained a hyperextension injury to his left knee.
Clinico-instrumental examinations performed Monday morning ruled out capsuloligamentous and meniscal injuries although no recovery time has been announced.
Gabbia is unlikely to be risked in the Italian Super Cup semifinal with Napoli on Thursday in Saudi Arabia but should still start with the team and try to recover for the eventual final against the winner of Inter– Bologna.
