Napoli market, immediately a reinforcement for Antonio Conte: new striker chosen

In this first part of the season Napoli has not given the impression of being the steamroller formation seen in the last two seasons and the standings prove it: the partenopei in the first 15 games have collected 10 wins, 1 draw and 4 defeats (as many as in the whole of last season). In the Champions League the situation is far worse: 7 points in the first 6 games, the same score as formations such as Copenhagen and Qarabag. Antonio Conte is definitely not satisfied and in January he wants the club to intervene in the market: the first possible reinforcement has already been identified.

He is Abdul Fatawu, Leicester’s offensive joker who is doing very well in the Championship this year. The speedy Ghanaian footballer was born on the outside right but can also play on the opposite lane and as a second forward flanked by a weighty center forward. In his first 21 games of the season he has recorded 4 goals and 6 assists and is one of the best elements in the Foxes’ squad. Leicester would not want to deprive him but it would be difficult to resist pressure from the player, who would obviously love to move to a club like Napoli. Abdul Fatawu has a valuation of around 22-24 million euros and could alternate with Matteo Politano and David Neres in the Neapolitan squad.

Bred in the youth ranks of Ghanaian club Steadfast, Abdul Fatawu also wore the Dreams jersey before moving to Portugal’s Sporting for 1.2 million euros in 2022. Initially attached to the second team of the Lusitanian club, Fatawu was later promoted to the first team and in 2023 Leicester shelled out nearly €17 million to bring him to England. With the Foxes he has so far totaled 11 goals and 21 assists in 77 official matches and was a major contributor to Leicester’s Championship victory in the 2023/2024 season. In the speedy striker&#8217s palmarés there is also an Africa Under-20 Cup of Nations won in 2021.

Aurelio De Laurentiis has already spent over 100 million euros in the summer and would not want to intervene in January as well, but Antonio Conte’s outburst worries the Neapolitan club and not a little. The Salento coach after the match he lost to Udinese sent a clear signal to the management of the Italian champion club.

“The alarm bell’I heard it even when we won. There’s little to say. When you have so many competitions, you have to equip a roster that is up to the task. Then if, for external reasons, the staff is reduced you can hold your own but in the end something pays off, otherwise we would all be phenomena” thundered the technician.
