Thiago Silva is determined to make the most of the last opportunities to convince Carlo Ancelotti to include him in the call-up list for the 2026 World Cup. This is precisely why the Brazilian defender is reportedly seriously considering leaving Brazil and returning to Europe, with AC Milan as the preferred destination. According to reports from Globo Esporte, the Fluminense center-back has already said goodbye to his teammates at the end of the Copa do Brasil return semifinal, lost on penalties against Vasco da Gama, with his mind already set on a possible return to the Rossoneri.

Based on the choice would be two main motivations: on the one hand, the desire to be closer to his family and children, who remained in London after his farewell to Chelsea; on the other hand, the desire to play his last cards to play one last World Cup before closing his career. Thiago Silva would thus like to return to the club that consecrated him internationally, that Milan where he experienced some of the best moments of his career. His return, however, is not without unknowns. In the Rossoneri’s house there remain strong doubts related to age: the defender’s 41 years of age is a risk factor for the management led by Gerry Cardinale, which is rather oriented toward a younger and more functional profile as an alternative in the back ward, not on a top player of his caliber.

Dusan Vlahovic meanwhile is once again being approached by AC Milan. This is reported by the Catalan sports daily Sport, according to which this would be one of the main reasons why Barcelona has ruled out the Serbian striker from the list of Robert Lewandowski’s possible heirs, in view of a possible departure of the Pole in the summer. The Blaugrana club, in fact, would already be considering the future of the offensive department, but the name of the 2000-year-old center forward would be crossed off. The reasons would be different: from the high salary compared to the performance shown in the season, to the contractual situation with Juventus, which expires in June, and the long injury layoff that will keep him away from the field for about three months.

Weighing most heavily, however, would be Vlahovic’s closeness to an understanding with AC Milan. In the Rossoneri, the striker would find Massimiliano Allegri, a coach with whom he has already worked in his Juventus days, an element that could facilitate the closing of the deal. Giovanni Cobolli Gigli, host of the talk “Radio Anch’io Sport” on Rai Radio 1, also spoke about the former viola.

“The only problem is the cost. I certainly would not sign a contract with the figures of the previous one. He needs to show attachment to the team and come to milder demands, perhaps with a longer-term contract. If that were the case, I would keep him”, the words of the’former Juventus president.
