Fiorentina looking like Pistoiese continues to spark irony

Giuseppe Cruciani goes toe to toe with Fiorentina’s management and does so for the color choice in the match played by Ranieri and his teammates against Hellas Verona, a match won by the guests thanks to the double put in by Orban, answered only by an unfortunate Scaligera own goal: “If you have to face a match that is like a Champions League final, the last resort, which is not fortunately for Fiorentina because there are other matches to be played even if the situation is dramatic, you cannot show up with the same shirt as Pistoiese”.

“That is, you change the cards on the table and you say to the sponsor ‘this is a decisive match, we want to play with the purple jersey which is an extraordinary jersey’” added the Roman journalist, who expressed himself this way in the Numer1 podcast. Paolo Vanoli, when he took the responsibility of leading Fiorentina in place of Stefano Pioli, had been clear: “I am not afraid.” Unfortunately, despite a great determination, his contribution to the purple cause has been minimal and, certainly, not enough to give the shake-up that the whole environment expected. The home defeat against Hellas Verona was yet another very hard blow against Fiorentina, which is increasingly last in the standings: six points, zero wins and the salvation zone a good eight points away.

An unfortunate situation that is worrying Viola fans a great deal, who are increasingly saddened by a crazy situation but are trying to save themselves, at least off the field, with irony: it was not only Cruciani, after all, who highlighted the issue of the jersey that reminded them and not a little of that of Pistoiese. Vanoli, at least so far, has not succeeded in shaking up a group that seems to have lost all its certainties. Even the senators, people like David de Gea (not exactly flawless against Paolo Zanetti’s men) and Moise Kean are dull, which makes the ascent even more complicated.

Vanoli has cashed in his confirmation, but there is talk, persistently, of the possibility of a new change on the bench. At the moment, the most popular name would be Davide Ballardini. The 61-year-old coach is famous for his “impossible” saves. He could be the right man to seek the feat and save a Fiorentina team that, at the moment, is completely flat, in every respect.

During his career, the Romagnolo has managed to save teams that seemed doomed. Among the possible alternatives is that of Giuseppe Iachini, whose great grit that he knows how to convey in the most delicate moments is also appreciated.
