Trieste, Mady Sissoko’s return is an'unknown

A victim of an injury during the championship game played by Trieste on Saturday against Reggio Emilia (victory for the Giulians in the overtime, 92-82 the final score), Mady Sissoko will have to stay put at least until the new calendar year. Indeed, the red and white club has confirmed that the injury is serious and does not allow, at the moment, to make predictions for a return to the parquet.
“Pallacanestro Trieste announces that Mady Sissoko underwent instrumental examinations yesterday to assess the’extent of the injury sustained in Saturday”’s game with Reggio Emilia” reads the official note that the club released on Tuesday, on the eve of the Champions League game against Wurzburg.
“Dr. Murena– continues the Julian club– showed a medium-sized injury to the medial collateral ligament of the left knee. The player, thanks to the work of the club’s medical and athletic staff, has already started the rehabilitation program that will bring him back to coach Gonzalez’s disposal. Further updates on Mady’s recovery process will be announced in early 2026”.
Sissoko had so far played all of Trieste’s official games, going into double figures eight times: his best performance from the standpoint of points scored was last November 18, just in Champions, against Galatasaray: on record, for the Malian, a double-double with 21 points and 10 rebounds in the 80-89 win over Galatasaray on the road.
