Reduced by two consecutive defeats, in the Euroleague on Friday against Hapoel Tel Aviv and on Sunday in the league against Olimpia Milano, Virtus Bologna returns to the continental arena with the ambition to redeem itself: to regain the smile, however, it will be necessary to close with a positive balance the double trip to Belgrade, on Wednesday against Partizan and on Friday against Red Star.

Black Vu coach Dusko Ivanovic did not mince words in describing the approach his players will have to take in an atmosphere that is expected to be fiery: “It will be a tough game against a team that has been playing well in the last four outings” began the Montenegrin coach.

“Definitely the environment of the Beograd Arena is an advantage for Partizan, but especially mentally they are a top team. They have variety of play, they can exploit both one-on-one play, shooters, and play inside the area. To win they will need consistency throughout the game and a high level of intensity: we will take the court to win and so we will have to play at our best” Ivanovic added.

Virtus forward Karim Jallow also spoke on the eve of the game: “It will be a tough game – he said -, Partizan has been playing really hard lately with a lot of energy and a very high degree of physicality. We then know that it is difficult to beat them at home, but we have shown that we can play with anyone”.

“We will have to accept the physical battle that will be there for the entire forty minutes– the German basketball player further explained -: we will not be able to have drops in concentration at any time, knowing that we will need maximum energy to win this game first physically than technically”.
