MotoGp, Marc Marquez does not close the door on a new revolution

Marc Marquez returning to Honda after returning to winning ways in Ducati? It’s a question many fans and industry insiders are asking in view of MotoGp’s change of regulations for 2027, which could definitively change the game after years of domination by the Rossa di Borgo Panigale. During Ducati in Festa, the MotoGp world champion motorcycle manufacturer’s end-of-year celebration, the Catalan answered the question directly, leaving open the possibility of a new revolution after the one that brought him, from Honda to Ducati, at the end of 2023.
“For next year it’s all clear, we also have the fastest bike and that’s an important aspect – said Marquez, who is tied to the official Red team until the end of the 2026 season -. For 2027 and 2028 the situation is different, things will change and it is normal to try to understand what will happen. I am happy here: I am fast, I am winning and I will not move until the end of the contract. I know that with Ducati I can be fast in the future as well, but that is not the only aspect to understand, so I can’t be certain what will be: the important thing is that I decide what is best for me”.
“We have been working throughout 2025 and we will continue to work in 2026 to keep winning – added the 1993-class centaur -. Then we will think about what is to come, 2027 and 2028. I have to take time for me, to think about my future and make the right decision for me and my career”. Marquez’s words, therefore, postpone to future times the decisions on what will happen from 2027, an important season for MotoGp given the heralded change in regulations that foreshadows a possible change in the forces in the field among the Manufacturers that will participate in the rainbow competition.
Marc Marquez’s 2025 will remain one of the most impressive seasons of his career not only for the numbers, but also for his ability to reinvent himself in a new environment after difficult years. The move to factory Ducati, initially greeted with curiosity and skepticism, turned into a demonstration of pure talent and immediate adaptation. Marquez has regained aggressiveness, consistency and lucidity, becoming the technical and mental reference point of the box.
His speed in the Sprints and his handling of long races showed a mature rider, capable of making the most of the Desmosedici’s potential. Even the final injury did not dent the perception of a dominant season, which brought the Catalan back to the top of MotoGp, finally extinguishing post-2020 doubts.
