Intervening during Ducati in Festa, the year-end celebration organized by the Rossa di Borgo Panigale, Nicolò Bulega had his say on a possible move from Superbike to MotoGp, a category that in 2025 saw him at the start of a couple of races in the season finale, replacing the injured Marc Marquez.

“With the rule change, I would like to move to MotoGp, especially because in 2027, in addition to the new rules, it will run on Pirelli tires, which I know well because it is the same brand that is used in Superbike. There will be so many similar aspects to the factory derivative championship, plus I will be testing Ducati in MotoGp and will be able to understand even better what I like and what I don”

Bulega, World Supersport champion in 2023 just with Ducati, has finished second in the World Superbike championship for two consecutive years, placing behind Toprak Razgatlioglu, BMW’s standard bearer who is next to make his MotoGp debut (riding Team Pramac’s Yamaha) in both 2024 and 2025. In this sense, he explained who he thinks will be the contender for the title in 2026.

“The rivals will be the two BMW riders and Iker Lecuona” said Bulega, who then sees his Valencia-born teammate and the German manufacturer’s new centaurs, Danilo Petrucci and Miguel Oliveira, as the main opponents for the title that eluded him last year by just 13 points, despite 14 overall wins between long races and Superpole Races.
