Frosinone-Spezia is a challenge that pits two teams at opposite ends of the table in terms of standings, performance and ambitions: Massimiliano Alvini’s Giallazzurri are enjoying a season of steady growth and are currently leading Serie B. Spezia, on the other hand, is mired in the salvation struggle and is looking for a prestigious result to try to climb back up.

Frosinone comes to the challenge with enthusiasm and awareness, fresh from the heavy victory in Pescara that confirmed the maturity of the group. The comeback signed Koutsoupias-Oyono showed a team capable of reacting even on less brilliant days, a fundamental quality for those aiming high. However, Alvini will have to reckon with the absence of Oyono himself, who is engaged in the African Cup of Nations, and will evaluate some alternative solutions in defense, where Calvani and Bracaglia seem favored on the outside lanes. In midfield, the trio Cichella-Calò-Koutsoupias should be confirmed, while forward space should be given to the trident Ghedjemis-Raimondo-Kvernadze.

Spezia, on the other hand, arrives at the Benito Stirpe with a complicated ranking, but with the will to play it without fear. Donadoni has to deal with several absences, but finds Hristov back from the first minute and relies on the solidity of the defensive trio completed by Wisniewski and Mateju. In the midfield, Nagy will lead the maneuver with Cassata and Bandinelli on either side, while on the flanks Vignali and Beruatto will try to provide balance and drive. In attack Artistico is the only certainty, while Vlahovic seems ahead to flank him.

Probable lineups

Spezia (3-5-2): Mascardi; Wisniewski, Hristov, Mateju; Vignali, Cassata, Nagy, Bandinelli, Beruatto; Artistico, Vlahovic. All. Donadoni.
