Serie B 2025-2026: Padova-Sampdoria, the likely lineups

Two days from the halfway mark of the Serie B championship, the match between Padova and Sampdoria takes the stage on Saturday at 3 p.m. The match at the Euganeo brings together two teams living decidedly opposite moments. Padova arrives with the wind in its sails after the 7 points collected in the last three games, capable of relaunching it on the edge of the playoff zone. Sampdoria, on the other hand, has plummeted to penultimate position, fresh from a black period and three consecutive defeats away from the Marassi.

In Padova, Andreoletti finds Silva again but loses Favale and must give up the disqualified Harder. Fusi returns from the first minute in the middle of the field, while Papu Gomez will act behind Bortolussi, still dry for a month and a half. Doubts mainly concern the outside lanes, with Ghiglione challenging Barreca after his good impact against Reggiana. Capelli could switch to the left in case the ex-Genoa player is inserted, while in midfield Crisetig and Varas complete the department. In defense, the Faedo-Sgarbi-Perrotta trio is confirmed, with Sorrentino favored for his fourth consecutive starting role.

Sampdoria arrives in Veneto with numbers that tell of a very complicated period: four defeats in the last six matches and a very bad external performance, with two points won in eight games. In this context, Massimo Coda remains the’only certainty: seven goals and three assists in sixteen appearances, already equaling last season&#8217s total contribution. The Gregucci-Foti duo recovers Marvin Cuni, who returns to the squad after a muscle injury, but loses Riccio and Ferri. The coach is expected to rely on 3-5-2 with Ghidotti between the posts, Hadzikadunic and Abildgaard in the defensive line and Pafundi next to Coda in attack.

Probable lineups

Padova (3-5-2): Sorrentino (Fortin); Faedo, Sgarbi, Perrotta; Capelli, Fusi, Crisetig, Varas, Barreca; Bortolussi, Gomez. All. Andreoletti.

Sampdoria (3-5-2): Ghidotti; Hadžikadunić, Abildgaard, Venuti; Depaoli, Cherubini, Henderson, Conti, Ioannou; Pafundi, Coda. All. Gregucci.
