Who is Adhu Malual, opposite of Monviso and of'Italy, victim of serious racist insults in Piedmont

Adhu Malual, opposite player for Monviso Volleyball and the national team, was the victim of serious racist insults during the match between the Piedmontese team and Macerata. Adhuoljok John Majak Malual, simply Adhu to everyone, was born in Rome on November 14, 2000 to parents originally from South Sudan and is now considered one of the brightest prospects in Italian volleyball. Her talent manifested early and did not escape the attention of federal coaches, who included her in the Club Italia project, where she played from 2017 to 2019, facing first the A2 Series and then the A1 Series. At the same time, her path in the Italian youth teams gained momentum: in 2018 she won gold at the U18/U19 European Championships, while in 2019 she won silver at the U20/U21 World Championships, confirming herself as one of the most promising forwards of her generation.
When her Club Italia experience ended, Adhu continued her growth in Serie A2 with Sassuolo, but her path soon took on an international dimension. In January 2021, in fact, she chose to move to the United States, to the University of Texas, to play in the prestigious NCAA championship with the Longhorns: a top-level context that allowed her to refine her technique, physicality and continuity.
She has been playing in the United States for many years.
Returning to Italy in 2022, she settled in Casalmaggiore, where she played two seasons of depth culminating with a call-up to the senior national team. Her debut came in 2023 in the VNL, the beginning of a new chapter that also saw her starring at the Universiade: on that occasion she dragged Italy to the gold medal by being the best scorer of the tournament.
Her performances did not go unnoticed and opened wide the doors of Vero Volley Milan, with whom she reached the Champions League final. The following season she landed in Florence, where she ended the regular season as the third best scorer with 499 points. From this summer she wears the jersey of Pinerolo, ready to live a new chapter in her career and definitely consolidate her role in the Italian volleyball scene.
