Africa Cup of Nations 2025: Egypt-Zimbabwe, the likely lineups

Egypt makes its African Cup of Nations debut by facing Zimbabwe, in the second match of Day 1 of Group B. Kickoff at 9 p.m. at the Adrar in Agadir. The Hassan-led team comes to the starting ribbons with the label of one of the big favorites and with the stated goal of winning an eighth continental triumph, a title that has been missing since way back in 2010. Completely different path for Zimbabwe, in its fifth overall participation and considered one of the tournament’s outsiders.
Hassan chooses the offensive trident consisting of Salah, Marmoush and Trezeguet. In the midfield, Ateya will be in the box, while the defense will be headed by the Rabia-Ibrahim pair.
Marinica is banking on Dube in attack, with Chirewa and Maswanhise on either side of him. In the midfield, Nakamba and Musona in the role of midwinger’winger, while in defense Murwira and Lunga will act as full-backs.
Marinica will be in charge of the defense.
