“I am incredibly proud to join the X-raid family for their prototype project and to drive the official X-raid Fenic SxS: this is an important step in my career and the perfect environment to push myself beyond my limits.” Rebecca Busi, 29, who in 2022 became the youngest Italian driver to take part in the Dakar, announces her joining the German X-raid team and prepares for the 48th edition of the legendary race starting next January 3 in Yanbu, Saudi Arabia, and ending in the same city two weeks and almost 8 thousand kilometers later, including about 5 thousand time trials, on January 17.

A challenge that will once again see her alongside Sergio Lafuente, Dakar Legend with his more than 15 editions of the race, with her since 2023. A new challenge for Rebecca, after a year’s stop and the important third place conquered in 2024 in the SSV World Championship, with 4 podiums out of 5 races, a title that qualifies her as the only Italian woman rider with a world title after the legendary Fabrizia Pons, and third ever, after Cristina Gutiérrez and Dania Akneel, the latter third in the Challenger category at World 2025, to stand on the podium in this championship.

The first time that she has been on the podium in this championship is in the Dakar Legend.

For the first time the Bolognese driver will compete in the Challenger category, on the X-raid Fenic Side-by-Side, first tested in early December at the Jeddah Baja – Cars 2025 Saudi Arabia Cross Country #3. Busi is currently in Chile, finishing her intense preparation in the Atacama Desert: next to her is her partner Josè Ignacio Cornejo, another Dakar Legend, competing in the Moto category, “a fundamental support, along with that of my family,” says Rebecca.
