Stefano Vavoli has died, played for Verona in Serie A

Former goalkeeper Stefano Vavoli passed away in Quartu Sant’Elena, where he had chosen to live at the end of his long career. Born in Terracina, he had grown up footballingly in Genoa and had played in Serie C2 between 1983 and 1986 with the shirts of Sant’Elena Quartu and Sorso, before landing in Serie A: in the 1986-’87 season with Verona as deputy to Giuliano Giuliani he had collected two appearances. Then a long tour of Italy, which had taken him to play with Pergocrema. Entella, Massese, Jesi, Turris and Puteolana, and finally a return to Sardinia in the early 1990s with Monteponi, Muravera and Dolianova.
After hanging up his gloves, Vavoli continued to dedicate himself passionately to Monastir, now in Serie D. Over the years he has been a valuable technical and corporate collaborator, but above all, as the island club pointed out in a note, “a great friend” for all those who got to know him and appreciate his human qualities
